Intro (00:00:00) - Welcome to the Creative Agency Success Show, the go to resource for agency owners looking to scale their business. Join us every week to stay ahead of the curve and position your agency for future success.

Jamie (00:00:14) - Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Jamie Solo Show today. So, I'm just going to introduce a new podcast format that we're going to do. But before I get to that, I want to talk about our podcasting journey. So, our podcasting journey has been several years and hundreds of episodes. So, we wanted to change things up a little bit here. And so, very excited. I never thought we would be where we were today, to be honest. Like going back to the first episode and please don't go back and listen to it because every time I listen to it, I kind of cringed with how bad I was on air in that in that episode. But we've grown over time. We've had more listeners and have a loyal listener base. And one of the things that Jody and I were talking about recently is, is how can we take this podcast to the next level? And so, we love having guests on and we love those conversations, but we think something different might be very helpful for us for our listeners.

Jamie (00:01:04) - And so, as I've mentioned before, and I think I talk about this in quite a few podcasts I'm on, my favorite podcast is called The Rewatchable by Bill Simmons and what Bill Simmons, and that team does. And that podcast is they take a rewatchable movie. So, it could be Top Gun. They recently did Jerry Maguire, and they sit there, and they talk about the movie, and they talk about the movie through categories. And so, I really love this idea. And as we started thinking and Jodie and I started talking about how to kind of rebrand this podcast, we thought, you know, there's just so much material out there. And Jodie and I are constant consumers of this material, whether it's a podcast, whether it's a webinar, whether it's a book or anything. And to be honest, it's not always going to be business material. Sometimes it is going to be entertainment or sports material that we listen to, that we think can relate to the business world.

Jamie (00:01:53) - And what we want to do is we want to basically talk about that material that's out there. And so, since we want to talk about existing material, we thought, what better way to do it than kind of borrow from that rewatchable format. And so, what we did is we came up with 11 topics that we'll be using to talk about that material. And each time we record, we're going to rewatch that podcast or book or whatever it is, the material out their webinar. And we're going to take notes on it and go through those topics to talk about some business advice we can give our listeners. So, I'm excited about this format, and it's going to be fun. I know we're already consuming the material anyway, so have someone you trust and listen to point to in the right way when it comes to some great material out there. I know, I love that, I know when I'm listening to a podcast or I'm listening to someone talk and they recommend a podcast, to me, that's always the place I find it is like, oh, well, if this person likes it, I'm going to want to listen to it too.

Jamie (00:02:49) - And so hopefully you get a lot of insight from us pointing you in the direction of some of these podcasts or webinars or books or whatever we're talking about here. But I think this is going to be, be a ton of fun. We're calling it the CFO Deep Dive, because that's exactly what we're doing. We're deep diving into some type of material that's already exists, and we're just adding our insights to it. Sometimes it'll be just Jody and I, and sometimes we'll bring guests in. So, this would be an avenue for us to talk to guests to say, hey, we want to take you to the show. We want your opinion on this podcast. And so, will you join us for that? And we'll kind of explain the explain the format to them. So, it'll be a lot of different people coming in and talking about different formats and different materials that are out there. So again, I'm very excited about this topic. But before we did our first episode, I wanted to talk everybody through what our topics are that we came up with, and we tried to use some creativeness.

Jamie (00:03:37) - We didn't want it to be boring. So, we have 11 topics here, and each one has a, we won't always use all of them, but each one will have a point about what we talk about. So, the podcast, each time we'll start with just some general thoughts. So, we'll spend five, five, ten minutes just talking about our first thoughts from listening to the, to the podcast or whatever that material is. And so, that's how we'll start the podcast and then jump into the topics. And so, here's the 11 topics that we get to choose from. So, the first is the ROI rocket. So, the return on investment. And this idea could financially benefit your business. So, that's one topic that we have. The next one was probably my favorite is the, the digital dollars and cents. And this is because I get to make fun of Jody a little bit. And this is because this is something that Jody should have put into his book, or that will make the second draft of his book.

Jamie (00:04:25) - So, this time, anytime we find something that should have made it into Jody's book, that'll fall into this topic. So, I'm excited for that one. Hopefully we get to use that one quite frequently. The next one is The Forecasting Whisperer. and that's the best piece of advice that you should consider when you update your monthly forecast. As you know, we here at Anders are big on forecasting, and it's kind of the core of what we do. So, this is this is something that is going to, when we're listening to a podcast or listening to an episode or something that we're like, oh, you really need to think about that. The next time you do your forecast, it'll come into that topic. After that we have the unicorn. So, this is the most unique thought of the episode. Again, going back to my basketball life, you know, everybody's heard the term unicorn for those athletes that are just unique. We wanted to throw this into this podcast as if we hear something in the episode that's a unique thought.

Jamie (00:05:15) - I haven't thought of something that way before that will be in that topic. The next one is the Metrics Maestro. So, this is a tip or a thought that you want your CFO to know. So, if you're a company and you, we hear something where, like, your CFO really needs to think about that the next time they're talking to you, this is that that's where that section will come up. And we'll talk about that piece of advice that your CFO really needs to know or needs to hear about, or maybe you even passed that podcast on to your CFO. The next topic is the accountant's decoder ring. This is where we translate accounting jargon into plain English. This is another one of my favorite topics, because this is something that I've always taken pride in. You know, accounting is a world that a lot of people find intimidating or complicated, and I like to try to be able to explain it to anybody. So, I always used to use my daughter as an example. She's 16 now, so she's a lot more intelligent than when I first started using that analogy.

Jamie (00:06:05) - I started using it when she was six. And like, if I can explain this to my six-year-old daughter, then I'm doing a good job. So, that's what this one is, is we want to take some basic accounting jargon for us, make sure that any business owner can really understand what it means. The next topic is Visionary Vantage. This is the best piece of advice that leaders should have picked up from the show. So, this is when we're listening to this episode or we're listening to something. We're like, oh man, as an owner or as a visionary, you really need to think about that. The next one is the ping pong Paradigm Prize. So, this goes on, everybody remembers, and I know I remember this because I got out of college. I graduated college in 2003, and that was really the time when all these companies were putting ping pong tables into their break rooms because they wanted their employees to feel like they had culture. And while that worked, I think there's a lot of other things that work for creating culture as well.

Jamie (00:06:53) - So, that that topic is if we've heard something on a podcast that we think will really help your culture, we'll bring it up there. the next one is, is the Killer toaster. We all know where AI is going, and there's a lot of people afraid of AI and that it's going to be our toasters. They're going to start talking to us and taking over the world. So, we decided to use that for our topic here. For any piece of advice or technology we hear technology advice or AI advice we hear that we really think could business owners need to be thinking about. So again, that one's called the Killer Toaster. and then the campaign carnival is number ten here. And this is basically, best piece of marketing or pipeline advice. You know, if you're running a campaign, or a marketing campaign, it's important. And then we like to throw the word carnival in there just because it's fun to have the visionary there. So, I think that, you know, if we hear a piece of marketing or pipeline advice that you need to know, we will throw it into that category.

Jamie (00:07:45) - And then the final category is the one we'll do every time. So, this, this will be one that's not used. And this is kind of the mic drop moment. If you've been listening to this podcast over the years, you know, we always ask at the end, okay, what is the one takeaway from this episode? What is the one thing you want people to take away. And so, we will keep that topic as the last topic is, is, you know, after listening to both our podcast and the podcast that we're referencing here, what is the one thing you should take away? And we're calling that the mic drop moment. So, those are the 11 topics. And again, the one that will recur every month is that last or every episode is that last one. But we're again, I know this is getting, Jody and I are very excited about doing the podcast, which is many episodes as we've done. You know, it's important that you're excited about what you are, what you do.

Jamie (00:08:28) - And so, we wanted to kind of put a fresh spin on, on the way to deliver our podcast. So, again, I'm very excited for this format. Hopefully you are well as well. And we're excited to get to it. So, I'm sure there'll be a new episode coming out, quickly after this one. So very excited for that. And thanks for, thanks for being such a loyal listener and following us for all these all these years.
